Ottawa’s Anne Lewis is set to bring her passion, poise and powerful interpretations of jazz classics and original songs to the stage. To celebrate the first anniversary of her return to singing, she is performing at the National Arts Centre’s Fourth Stage on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 7:30 P.M.
A versatile singer with a warm, deliberate intonation, Anne wraps her voice around every note and brings to the listener a rich, meaningful delivery of the songs she sings.
Joining Anne at the Fourth Stage are Juno-Award winning jazz guitarist Mike Rud, jazz pianist Peter Hum, double bassist John Geggie, and Michel Delage on drums.
Anne and Peter, the concert’s musical director, have carefully selected songs that will inspire love, laughter and reflections of life. From sassy up-tempo swing, to sultry blues, to smooth and mellow, the evening will feature original songs and renditions of jazz standards made famous by the vocal jazz masters of years gone by.
