Ottawa jazz pianist Peter Hum celebrates the launch of his second CD, Alpha Moment, with a special concert at the National Arts Centre’s Fourth Stage on Thursday Sept 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The album, a follow-up to Peter’s critically acclaimed debut A Boy’s Journey, consists of eight energetic and evocative original jazz compositions interpreted by some exceptional and renowned Canadian musicians. The new disc was made possible with financial support from the City of Ottawa and the Ontario Arts Council. 

Joining Peter at the Fourth Stage are four long-time collaborators — saxophonist Kenji Omae (making the trip from Seoul, Korea), Juno Award-winning guitarist Mike Rud and his fellow Montrealer, bassist Alec Walkington, plus Guelph-based drummer Ted Warren. 

These far-flung friends last got together for two fun-filled days in December 2011 to record the album.Peter and company are raring to give this music the memorable, exciting coming-out party it deserves.
