For the NAC: The Ark (2011), Saint Carmen of The Main (co-production with Canadian Stage), Associate Director and choreographer for nativity, actor and choreographer for Romeo & Juliet, choreographer and Assistant Director for The Drowsy Chaperone (co-production with Citadel Theatre of the Vancouver Playhouse Company production) and A Christmas Carol.
 

Theatre: (Directing) Driving Miss Daisy starring Michael Learned and Walter Borden (Starbright Summer Festival) and the Canadian premiere of The 39 Steps (the 1000 Islands Playhouse). Other directorial credits include Tuesday’s With Morrie (Starbright Summer Festival). Paula Danckert

Production Dramaturg (Oliver! / Creation / King Lear)

Raised in: Toronto, ON/Based in: Ottawa, ON

For the NAC: As Company Dramaturg and Artistic Associate, Paula works on all aspects of theatre programming and development.

Theatre: Before coming to the NAC, Paula was the Artistic and Executive Director of Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal for 9 1/2 years. Prior to that, she was president of Playwrights’ Atlantic Resource Centre and has been the Associate Dramaturg at the New Play Centre in Vancouver and at the Banff Centre’s Playwrights’ Colony and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Paula has worked as dramaturg with such playwrights as Marie Clements, Copper Thunderbird (co-production with Urban Ink productions) and Burning Vision (nominated for a Governor General’s Award); Peter Hinton, The Swanne: Parts I, II and III (produced at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival); and Larry Tremblay, A Chair in Love, a comic opera, music by John Metcalfe (produced at the Swansea Festival in Wales and Éspace Go in Montreal).

Other: Paula is also a radio producer, foley artist and teacher. Before joining the National Arts Centre, she was CBC Radio’s Drama Producer for the Maritime region. She was also Associate Producer for Live Art Productions: New Dance Series, a foley artist for Salter Street Films, and the producer and host of the program Artspeak on CKDU-FM.

Set and Costume Designer (Oliver!)

Raised in: Toronto, ON/Based in:Montreal, QC.

For the NAC: Eo Sharp has designed set and costume for nine productions for the National Arts Centre. In previous seasons, Eo has designed sets and costumes for Saint Carmen of The Main (co-production with Canadian Stage), The Comedy of Errors (co-production with Centaur Theatre), AChristmas Carol, Buried Child (co-production with The Segal Theatre), TheChangeling, And All for Love, Falstaff and The Snow Show.

Theatre: Past collaborations with Peter Hinton include set designs for The Swanne: Parts II and III (The Stratford Shakespeare Festival),  A Doll’s House (Segal Theatre), Snowman (Imago Theatre)as well as girls! girls! girls! (Teatro Comenici/Festival de théâtre des Amériques). Originallyfrom Toronto, Eo now lives in Montreal. She has a B.F.A. from the University of Toronto and isa graduate of the National Theatre School’s design program. In Montreal, Eo has won the MeccaAward for Best Design for both Looking for Romeo (Sin 4 Productions) and Human Collision/Atomic Reaction (The Other Theatre/Festival de théâtre des Amériques).

Lighting Designer (Salt-Water Moon / Oliver)

Raised in: Ottawa, ON/Based in:Meech Lake, QC

For the NAC: Jock has worn many hats at the NAC, working as a stagehand, consultant, associate artist-in-residence, and as lighting designer for all departments within the Centre. A member of the original NAC English Theatre Company, Jock is thrilled to be a part of Peter Hinton’s company. He most recently designed the 40th Anniversary English Theatre Company’s A Christmas Carol and Mother Courage and her Children (co-production with Manitoba Theatre Centre) and last season’s nativity and Vimy (co-production with GCTC).

Theatre: He has designed for most regional theatres in Canada, including the Shaw Festival and Stratford Shakespeare Festival (14 seasons). Jock has premiered work with some of Canada’s best choreographers, including Jean-Pierre Perrault, Edouard Lock and Paul-André Fortier, in places such as the Paris Opera, The Nederlands Dans Theatre, and Saitama and Yamaguchi Arts centres in Japan. He lives with his family Chris, Genny and Paula.

Raised in: Toronto, ON/Based in: Stratford, ON

For the NAC: The Wrong Son, The Real Thing, After the Orchard, Trying, Arms and the Man, Mary's Wedding and An Enemy of the People.

Theatre: He is currently the Resident Sound Designer at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where he has designed over 30 productions, including Camelot, Richard III, and Shakespeare's Will, The Tempest, Jacques Brel..., Kiss Me, Kate, West Side Story, Bartholomew Fair, Julius Caesar, Fuente Ovejuna, Krapp's Last Tape, Oklahoma!, Pentecost, Oliver!, King Lear and Fiddler on the Roof. Other favorites include Sinatra Dance With Me (Vegas); Come Fly Away (Broadway and National tour);High Society, Gypsy (Shaw Festival); Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sweeney Todd, Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret (Citadel Theatre); Fire, Little Shop of Horrors, The House of Martin Guerre (Canadian Stage); Medea, Orpheus Descending (Manitoba Theatre Centre/Mirvish Productions); Beauty and the Beast, Robin Hood, Cinderella (Ross Petty); Barrymore (Toronto and Broadway).

Other: Peter is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada. He holds a degree in Music and a Master's in Sound Recording from McGill. Special thanks to Meghan, Ella and Beatrice for all their love, patience and encouragement.

Theatre: Most recently, Production Assistant for Billy Elliot (Stratford Shakespeare Festival and Mirvish Productions).  Apprentice Stage Manager for A Christmas Carol (Upper Canada Playhouse); Norma (Vancouver Opera); The Magic Flute (Orchestra London); Legends and Wingfield Lost and Found
(The Grand Theatre).  Additional stage management work includes HONK! Jr. (Theatre Aquarius/Classic Kids); The Tempest and Les fourberies de Scapin (Repercussion Theatre); and Rome @ the AGO (Single Thread Productions).  She trained in stage management at The Banff Centre, Sheridan College, and Concordia University.
