Every sākihiwē stage challenges stereotypes and reaffirms the humanity of Indigenous people. Music is taken to Indigenous families in Winnipeg so they can participate in the arts without sacrificing their family responsibilities, personal safety, or ability to make ends meet. Efforts are are supported by the great folks at Ka Ni Kanichihk, the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Spence Neighbourhood Association, and Central Neighbourhoods Winnipeg.
