Bask in the joviality of French Canadian culture surrounded by great music, amazing foods and wondrous sights and re-embody the spirit of the voyageurs! Every winter since 1970, Saint-Boniface, Winnipeg’s French quarter, is transformed into a winter paradise; Western Canada’s largest winter festival Le Festival du Voyageur. The history of the Voyageurs, Métis and First Nations peoples from the area are brought back to life, through historical reenactments presented inside the restored Fort Gibraltar, and through activities and attractions both inside Voyageur Park and at other festival sites. Traditional music and cuisine, sensational snow sculptures and a diversity of shows and activities serve to entertain a diverse audience at this celebratory gathering.
