Resa Solomon-St. Lewis is the CEO & Executive Chef of Baccanalle in Ottawa. Chef Resa was born in Winnipeg into a family from Trinidad & Tobago and has lived most of her life in Ottawa with her wonderfully supportive husband and family.
Resa is an award-winning, professionally trained Chef from Algonquin College with an engineering degree from the University of Ottawa. After a lengthy career in environmental engineering and management, she founded Baccanalle with the goal of sharing a taste of the Caribbean and creating lifestyle options.
Baccanalle started in local Farmer’s Markets and community events and has grown to also include major festivals, bespoke events, a line of specialty foods, and a sought-after catering company. Food Network Canada highlighted Baccanalle as one of the best woman-led food businesses in Canada. She is an Embassy Chef Challenge Champion and People's Choice Award winner. Resa is an avid community supporter and is the recipient of a Black History Ottawa Community Builder award. Chef Resa holds deep appreciation for her team’s contribution to the success of Baccanalle.
Resa is also passionate about sharing Caribbean culinary heritage knowledge. She is a guest lecturer at Algonquin College and the host of In the Kitchen with Resa, a cooking show on Rogers TV, streaming on YouTube.
