Maude Marquis-Bissonnette

Maude Marquis-Bissonnette holds a doctorate in public policy from Carleton University in Ottawa, a master’s degree from the École nationale d’administration publique (ENAP) in Montréal, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Montréal.

She has worked as a strategic planner at the regional level, and as a consultant for several public-sector organizations.

In 2017, she was elected municipal councillor for the City of Gatineau’s Plateau ward. During her term, she oversaw a number of important files, including land use planning, the environment, housing, and the social economy. She also served on the board of directors of the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) and the Office d’habitation de l’Outaouais.

Actively involved in local organizations, she is a former vice-president of the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau.

In June 2022, Maude Marquis-Bissonnette was appointed assistant professor of municipal management at ENAP. From January 2023 to April 2024, she was also a political analyst on the National Capital panel of ICI Radio-Canada’s TV news.

Maude Marquis-Bissonnette was elected mayor of Gatineau on June 9, 2024.
