Kristina Watt Villegas is an award-winning actor, creator and writer and the Artistic Director of 100 Watt Productions. Once relocating to Ottawa, she has worked at the National Arts Centre, Great Canadian Theatre Company, New Theatre of Ottawa, MiCasa, Tactics, Theatre 4.669 and Undercurrents Festival. She received her MFA in Acting then continued to train at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Central School of Speech & Drama, The Acting Center (NYC), Lincoln Center and Volcano Theatre. With 100 Watt, she creates theatre that investigates the collision between science and the arts (Holding Mercury, Particle, 12 and STUFF – to debut at the GCTC in May 2024). She has taught at the University of North Carolina, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and currently at the University of Ottawa. She was Arts Outreach Coordinator for children at school facilities in NYC and is now part of the National Alliance of Teaching Artists in the United States. With the 100 Watt Youth Ensemble, her passion to create is fueled by a desire to give a voice to the needs, thoughts, and potential of youth.
