Yukon Canada
Born in Venezuela, Geneviève Doyon grew up in Belgium and the Netherlands, then headed to Montreal for her post-secondary studies. She graduated from the Université de Montréal (Film Studies and Comparative Literature) before completing an acting degree at UQAM’s École supérieure de théâtre. In 2011, she escaped the big city and ended up in Yukon territory where she has lived ever since.
Geneviève is an actor, a playwright, and the co-Artistic Director of Open Pit Theatre. As a performer, she has toured Canada from coast to coast with various productions by Ramshackle Theatre and Open Pit Theatre.
Off stage, Geneviève is the playwright behind Leave a Message (après le bip), Busted Up: A Yukon Story, and Look Up, as well as the co-writer, with Jessica Hickman, of Open Pit Theatre’s most recent piece, Radio Silence.
Beside her theatre practice, Geneviève works at the Yukon Archives and spends much of her time exploring the territory’s mountains, lakes, and rivers with her family.
