Daniel Fuchs is a violin performer and teacher based in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He plays in the first violin section of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, performs chamber music with the Strong Harbour Strings Collective and violin and organ duo Dialogue, as well as with the Jewish music ensemble, Siach Hasadeh. Daniel completed his bachelor’s degree at McGill University in Violin Performance with Denise Lupien and Thomas Williams, followed by a master’s degree in Performance and Pedagogy from Memorial University of Newfoundland with Nancy Dahn.

A devoted educator, Daniel teaches students of all ages in his private studio and as a teaching artist at the Strong Harbour Strings Program, a program offering free music education to youth in several St. John’s neighbourhoods. With his string quartet, he recently presented educational workshops and performances in ten schools across the province as part of the ArtsNL School Touring Program. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, hiking, baking, and exploring the beautiful island of Newfoundland.
