Recipient of the Crabtree Foundation Award 2024, presented within the framework of the National Arts Centre Orchestra (NACO) Bursary Competition, Annie Noël-de-Tilly is a talented emerging flutist from the Gatineau-Ottawa region.
She began her studies at the age of nine under the tutelage of Pascale Margely and earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau in 2023. Gifted with natural musicality and sensitivity, she quickly distinguished herself in solo and chamber music competitions, including the NACO Bursary Competition, the Pentaèdre-Youkali Competition, the Rising Stars program at Chamberfest, and the Classival Competition. Annie has performed frequently with the Orchestre des Conservatoires, and more recently, with the Orchestre de l’Université de Montréal, where she is currently pursuing her Master’s degree with Ariane Brisson.
Always in search of new challenges, she regularly participates in residencies and training programs, including Orford Music Artist Residency and the Domaine Forget Academy. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to perform and receive guidance from esteemed masters such as Juliette Hurel, Michel Bellavance, Mario Caroli, and Julien Beaudiment.
Passionate about chamber music, she is the artistic director of Ensemble Passamano, a trio (flute, cello, piano) she founded in May 2022. The group won the Grand Prize for small ensembles at the Classival Competition in Salaberry-de-Valleryfield and the first prize at the Rising Stars competition at Ottawa Chamberfest. Her dedication to chamber music led to an invitation to perform with the prestigious Ensemble Prisme for their 2022-2023 season.
