New Member of the NAC’s Board of Trustees from Quebec
I’m very pleased to announce that Louise Sicuro, the Founder of Journées de la Culture in Québec has been named to the NAC’s Board of Trustees. Ms. Sicuro is a visionary leader in the Quebec arts scene, who has inspired a national movement to make culture accessible to all people.
For the past decade, thousands of Quebec artists, craftspeople, schools, municipalities, businesses and citizens organize events over a three-day celebration known as Journées de la Culture. The celebration reaches more than 2 million Quebec citizens each year.
In 2011, Ms. Sicuro was named a member of the Order of Canada for her leadership in promoting the arts in Canada. She has served on many boards including the University of Quebec in Montreal, Place des Arts, Culture Montréal, and was a founding member of the Steering Committee which created Culture Days in 2008.
As the NAC approaches its 50th Anniversary in 2019, we are so pleased to welcome such an experienced member of Canada’s cultural community to our team!
