Wayne McGregor | Random Dance performs for the first time at the NAC February 8, 2011

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance presents Entity in the NAC Theatre February 8, 2011. The performance is sold out, but those still interested should check for last minute returns.

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance was founded in 1992 and became the instrument upon which McGregor evolved his drastically fast and articulate choreographic style.

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance is at the cutting edge of contemporary culture, incorporating animation, digital film, 3D architecture, electronic sound and virtual dancers into live choreography. With a radical approach to technology and a creative style that is fast and articulate, the company pushes the boundaries of art and dance in creations that astonish and stimulate.

Entity, choreographed by McGregor (also resident choreographer for Britain’s Royal Ballet) is a breathtaking trip through a soundscape created by Jon Hopkins (Coldplay and Massive Attack collaborator) and award-winning composer Joby Talbot.

A staggering blend of bodies, lights, technology and film, this piece is an emotionally uncompromising and hard-hitting look at how the brain conceives movement and how it might re-imagine it – unveiling a volatility of choreography in which bodily components speed off in restless new directions.

"Entity… develops into a great sexy beast of a piece – it’s like being licked by a panther’s juicy, rasping tongue while you’re revising maths." David Jays, The Sunday Times, UK
