Emily Saves the Orchestra -- the fourth TD Bank Group ‘Family Adventures with the National Arts Centre Orchestra’ concerts – feature the National Arts Centre Orchestra conducted by Boris Brott, as well as guest artists Ottawa’s acclaimed Platypus Theatre, writer and actor Peter Duschenes, and actor Danielle Desormais. Emily Saves the Orchestra takes place on Saturday April 28, 2012 in Southam Hall of the NAC at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each bilingual performance lasts approximately 60 minutes.
Emily Saves the Orchestra offers a wonderful introduction to classical music as 10-year-old Emily must save the orchestra from the noisy monster, Cacopholous.

This unique 4-concert series -- ideal for ages 5 to 105 -- is a great way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon.
TUNETOWN: Pre-Concert Activities
Pre-concert activities organized by the Friends of the NAC Orchestra begin 45 minutes prior to each concert. They include:
• Performances by OrKidstra chamber groups and KidSingers choirs
• Interactive musical activities by Music for Young Children
• A book display by the Ottawa Public Library
• A mini-gallery display by ArtDayCare
• Brass, Winds, and Strings “Petting Zoos” by members of the Regimental Band of the GG and members of OrKidstra
• Craft station: Cupcake Flowers
This series is made possible in part by the National Arts Centre Foundation’s National Youth and Education Trust. Emily Saves the Orchestra will be performed in Southam Hall of the National Arts Centre on Saturday April 28, 2012 at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $21.52 for adults, $12.91 for children, and $53.80 for a family of four.
