The Transformations Project

TRANSFORMATIONS: But Better

By Aka Hiro / fu-GEN Theatre Company

Painting a dream in this one. A future world where we see the reflection of our grandparents in ourselves, thinking of the roots they planted, the suffering they endured, how we stand on the shoulders of them, living that better life they dreamed for us. In the water, upon the grass, basking in the moonlight, phones dead, making love. Again and again.

This song was created and recorded in Toronto Ontario, on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe, the Chippewa and the Wendat peoples, amongst many other Nations who have been living on and caring for this land for thousands of years. This land is covered by and bound to the agreements of Treaty 13, signed with the Mississauga's of the Credit First Nation.

Commissioned by fu-GEN Theatre Company.
