Last night the National Arts Centre launched Share the Spirit, an annual program that brings deserving children and their families from the National Capital Region to witness the magic of live performance at the NAC. This year, we are thrilled to annouce our new Honourary Chair of Share the Spirit, Spartacat!

We at the NAC believe that every child deserves to experience the rush of anticipation as the house lights dim and feel the joy that live music, theatre and dance brings. But unfortunately, attending one of our shows isn’t possible for everyone, be it for economic or health reasons, and that is why we created Share the Spirit. So for a fourth season we are sharing the magic of our holiday performances, and many more throughout the year, with hundreds of children and their families.

This program would not exist without the support of our sponsors, donors, community partners and audiences. Last year, thanks to our generous donors, we were able to give more than 1,800 free tickets to deserving families.

This year we are delighted to announce that we are joined by Sun Life Financial as the Presenting Sponsor of Share the Spirit. Like the NAC, Sun Life is committed to making a difference in the community every day.

We would also like to acknowledge our other supporters Tim Hortons, Trinity Development Group, St. Laurent Volvo, The Honourable John Manley and Mrs. Judith Manley as well as hundreds of other donors who have contributed to Share the Spirit through the NAC Foundation’s Donors’ Circle.

We’re so excited to be working with a dedicated group of community partners whose clients are benefiting from the program – Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Candlelighters, CHEO Foundation, Children’s Aid Foundation of Ottawa, Community Living Renfrew County South, The Ottawa Food Bank, the Sens Foundation, the Snowsuit Fund and United Way.

With the support of our partners who work closely with the community, and our many generous donors, we can enable people to live beautiful moments that will remain etched in their memory.

Join more than 6,500 champions of performance, creation and learning by supporting Canadian artists, educators and students through the NAC Foundation.
