Amanda Forsyth, the NAC Orchestra’s Principal Cellist, has always liked her finery.

And last night when she made her concerto début at Carnegie Hall performing the Double Concerto by Brahms alongside her husband Pinchas Zukerman (the NAC Orchestra’s Music Director) with the Israeli Philharmonic, Amanda got to début a dress, too.

A dress given to her by none other than Oscar de la Renta.

“I’m the first one to wear it,” wrote Amanda earlier this week, “and I’m keeping it!”

Mr. De la Renta gave her the dress, which he pulled especially for her from his yet-to-be-seen upcoming collection.  De la Renta was in the audience for the 7 p.m. performance Thursday night at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and afterward went on to The Plaza for a fundraising Gala.

Amanda and Pinchas performing Brahms’ Double Concerto: hardly a music moment that needs any icing to make special.

But thanks very much, Oscar de la Renta, for providing just that. Gorgeous!
