Jillian Horton is an internist, a writer, a teacher and former Associate Dean, a meditator, a musician, and an expert on physician health. But she is also human. Like more than 1/3 of her colleagues, she has struggled with severe burnout. Her quest to understand the root causes of physician burnout led her to a Zen retreat for Doctors in Chapin Mill, New York. Dr. Horton joins executive producer Heather Gibson for an intimate and candid discussion about her new memoir, “We Are All Perfectly Fine”. They’ll talk about mindfulness and healing, the patients she can’t forget, the toxic culture that too often drives physicians to suicide, and the path towards treating ourselves and others with kindness and empathy.
