Onstage is a huge kitchen table, a key element in our culture and the backdrop for the stoned-out poetry of Loui Mauffette in this festive, rambunctious tribute to his father Guy, an actor, poet and host of the radio show Cabaret du soir qui penche, broadcast by Radio-Canada from 1960 to 1973.

The orchestrator of this merry maelstrom and his twenty performers will be taking the NAC stage by storm as they subject the traditional poetry evening to a radical shock treatment. On the menu of this singular banquet that appeals to all the senses are the words of Jim Morrison, Marguerite Duras, Patrice Desbiens, Suzanne Jacob and James Joyce, not to mention those of Uguay, Rimbaud, Nelligan and the paternal Oiseau de nuit himself. An evening with lots of poetry… and sandwiches!
