The National Arts Centre English Theatre presents
Communion
by Daniel MacIvor
directed by Linda Moore
Produced by KAZAN Co-op (Halifax, NS)
April 10 - 21, 2012
NAC Studio

Ottawa, ON, April 2, 2012 – In this riveting play from Daniel MacIvor, one of Canada’s most respected playwrights, three women are at a turning point - a mother, a daughter and a therapist - desperately search for meaning and connection.

Leda has a secret. When her psychotherapist does the unthinkable and offers concrete advice, Leda acts on it – before it’s too late. Three women reveal their hidden strengths in the surprisingly funny play about motherhood, love, God and the meaning of life.

Having enthralled audiences at the Neptune Theatre in Halifax, the NAC English Theatre is delighted to bring this first production by KAZAN Co-op to Ottawa. Communion also marks the first time the NAC English Theatre has presented a play by Siminovitch Prize-winner and Nova Scotia native Daniel MacIvor.

“Brilliant cast, great staging mark this exploration of relationships. Take in Communion while it lasts!” – Chronicle Herald
