On Saturday January 8, NAC Orchestra principal double bass Joel Quarrington becomes the second NAC Orchestra artist to host CBC Radio 2’s This is My Music. Canada's leading classical music stars share the music that inspires them and shapes their lives on This is My Music, broadcast from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Radio Two, 103.3 FM

Joel Quarrington plays more than a dozen eclectic musical selections, with everything from classical, jazz, folk, marches and yodeling to some sampling of his ventures into the world of mystical Eastern music with his second instrument, the erhu, the two-stringed Chinese violin.

Regarding his hosting duties and musical selections, Joel says, “I was already a fan of This is My Music and rarely miss a show. I jumped at the opportunity to do my own when it was offered. There was so much I wanted to play and talk about, but time wouldn’t allow everything.  After much careful editing I think the show will present a very good snapshot of me and my life in music and that I did manage to have a lot of fun as guest host!”
