See the NAC Orchestra, led by conductor Evan Mitchell, perform one of composer John Williams’s most iconic musical scores live to picture!

This action-packed adventure pits man against prehistoric predators in the ultimate battle for survival. Featuring visually stunning imagery and ground-breaking special effects, this epic film is sheer movie magic 65 million years in the making.

Jurassic Park transformed the movie-going experience for an entire generation and became the highest-grossing film of all time in 1993, winning three Academy Awards®. Now audiences can experience this ground-breaking film as never before as it is projected in HD with a full symphony orchestra performing Williams’s magnificent score live!
 

ABOUT THE NAC ORCHESTRA AND MUSIC DIRECTOR ALEXANDER SHELLEY

Since its debut in 1969, the National Arts Centre Orchestra has been praised for the passion and clarity of its performances, its visionary educational programs, and its prominent role in nurturing Canadian creativity.  The Orchestra performs a full series of subscription concerts at the National Arts Centre each season, featuring world-class artists such as James Ehnes, Angela Hewitt, Joshua Bell, Xian Zhang, Gabriela Montero, Stewart Goodyear, Jan Lisiecki, and Principal Guest Conductor John Storgårds. Since its inception, the Orchestra has commissioned more than 80 works, mostly from Canadian composers, and its commissions and recordings won JUNO awards for Best New Composition in 2018 and 2019.  The NAC Orchestra reaches a national and international audience through touring, recordings, and extensive educational outreach. The Orchestra performed on Parliament Hill for the 2019 Canada Day noon concert in a live broadcast for CBC Television.

Alexander Shelley began his tenure as Music Director in 2015, following Pinchas Zukerman’s 16 seasons at the helm. Principal Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chief Conductor of the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra (2009 - 2017), he has been in demand around the world, conducting the Rotterdam Philharmonic, DSO Berlin, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and Stockholm Philharmonic, among others, and maintains a regular relationship with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and the German National Youth Orchestra.

Located in the heart of the city, The Arena and Stadium at TD Place form the centerpiece of Ottawa/Gatineau’s renowned urban lifestyle district, Lansdowne. The spectacular outdoor stadium and newly refurbished arena is home to the CFL’s Ottawa REDBLACKS and the OHL’s Ottawa 67’s. The stadium seats 24,000 for live sports and 30,000 for concerts. Since opening in July 2014, TD Place has been home to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, two CFL East Division Finals, an NASL Championship Semifinal match, UFC, The Brier, Davis Cup and an epic performance from AC/DC, as well as the 105th Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival.

The stadium’s signature feature is a dramatic and unique wood veil on the outside of the south stand superstructure.
