French Theatre presents Bonne retraite, Jocelyne (Oct. 2-5)

October 2 to 5, 2019, 7:30 p.m. at NAC Babs Asper Theatre
In French

Retirement often prompts people to look back at the past, but in Jocelyne’s case it becomes a pretext for a flood of opinions, awkwardness and bitterness. In dialogue that alternates between banal odiousness and odious banality, Fabien Cloutier turns the microscope on a nuclear family trapped in a teeming vivarium.
A fifth play for that Quebec artist, and the first to be presented on the NAC French Theatre stage.

Written and directed by: Fabien Cloutier
With: Jean-Guy Bouchard, Isabelle Brouillette, Josée Deschênes, Claude Despins, Sophie Dion, Lauren Hartley, Éric Leblanc, Vincent Roy and Lauriane S. Thibodeau
Produced by: Théâtre de La Manufacture, Théâtre du Trident and NAC French Theatre

Running time: approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes with no intermission

As a family
As a people
It seems to me there will never be enough of us
To be able to afford not to love one another.
Fabien Cloutier
