EQUATOR COFFEE ROASTERS OPENS AT THE NATIONAL ARTS CENTRE
April 12, 2018 – OTTAWA (Canada) – Equator Coffee Roasters, a local, family-owned coffee shop, launched its new location inside the atrium of the National Arts Centre with an Official Opening attended by Ottawa City Councillor Catherine McKenney (Somerset Ward); NAC President and CEO Peter Herrndorf; and Carissa Klopoushak, Violin, NAC Orchestra.
Founded by award-winning entrepreneurs Craig and Amber Hall, Equator Coffee Roasters has been roasting, delivering and serving fresh, fair trade, organic coffee since 1998. Their newest location in the NAC’s new atrium will offer exceptional coffee, delectable treats, and iconic views of Confederation Square. In honour of its official opening, Equator at the NAC is offering free drip-coffee all day on April 12. In addition, it will also host an evening event that will feature DJ Trevor Walker from 6 to 8 p.m.
“We are delighted to welcome Equator Coffee Roasters to the NAC,” said NAC President and CEO Peter Herrndorf. “It will be the ideal place to recharge and enjoy great coffee and company – on the way to work, as a meeting place, or before a show.”
“We are simply thrilled to be bringing Equator Coffee Roasters to downtown Ottawa, and couldn’t be more pleased to be doing that from the spectacular new National Arts Centre,” said co-owner Craig Hall. “It’s not only a beautiful setting for our patrons to enjoy superior coffee, it’s also a place to be inspired by the artists who perform here. We look forward to adding the creativity of our incredible baristas to the NAC experience.”
The three main pillars of Equator’s business have been fresh roasting, fair trade purchasing and organic certification. Equator believes the benefits of drinking coffee are not just for the consumer, but also for all the participants in the process, from Equator’s staff back to the farmers who grow the coffee.
