BRIGITTE HAENTJENS SHARES 2017 GOVERNOR GENERAL'S CASH AWARD AMONG FIVE YOUNG CREATORS

Brigitte Haentjens is the recipient of a 2017 Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for lifetime artistic achievement. She has decided to share the $25,000 cash award among five young creators.

Brigitte will be giving $5,000 each to director Catherine Bourgeois (artistic director of the theatre company Joe, Jack et John), writer, poet and actor Gabriel Robichaud, playwright Andréane Roy, set designer Julie Vallée-Léger and director Catherine Vidal.

“I am extremely grateful for this award, which honours me, the artists who have worked with me, and the communities that have supported my artistic practice. I want to share this award with creators whose practice is original and authentic.”
