Torkel studied theatre design at Yale University and works for dance, theatre and opera. He has collaborated with Alan Lucien Øyen and winter guests since 2004 for excerpts of citation…, What´s not to love?, Bird in Magic Rain, Avenida Corrientes, America 1 and 2, Jingle Horse and Story, story, die among others. For OscarsborgOperaen has he designed Aida and Carmina Burana. For Kilden, Carmen, Evita and West Side StoryLa Boheme and Don Giovanni for Den Nye Opera in Bergen. He has been resident lighting designer for Det Norske Teatret since 2012 where he designed set and lights for Utafor, lights for Lazarus, The Book of Mormon, If/Then, Woyzeck, Sweeney Todd, Shockheaded Peter and Mourning Becomes Electra among others.
