Sean Hawthorne

Sean Hawthorne is studying with Michel Strauss and Jan Ype Nota at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Prior to his attendance here, Sean received his Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School studying with Richard Aaron.

Sean has served as principal cellist of numerous orchestras including the National Repertory Orchestra, the Juilliard Chamber Orchestra, the Chautauqua Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, and the Empire State Youth Orchestra. Sean has been a prizewinner in multiple competitions including the Empire State Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Associated Music Teachers League Scholarship Competition, and the Schenectady Symphony Scholarship Competition. Additionally, Sean has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in the United States including the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Skaneateles Chamber orchestra.
