Ria Kim (she/her), pianist originally from Korea, is currently teaching at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and is collaborating at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She received her education at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts with Oxana Zotova’s instructions, Fountain School of Performing Arts with Lynn Stodola’s instructions, (former Dalhousie University) and Manhattan School of Music with Daniel Epstein’s instructions up to her MMus.   

“Trio Benterria” that she was in won the Provincial Music Festival 2011, which led them to the National Festival of Music in Saskatoon. Ms. Kim played Beethoven’s ‘Emperor Concerto’ with the Dalhousie Orchestra in 2010.  

Her main interest has expanded from classical music towards multi-genre and cross-genre, and incorporates such freedom in her teaching settings. At her attendance at Domaine Forget, Shandelee Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival she had the opportunity to study with Yonghee Moon, Philip Chiu, John Forconi, Chiharu Iinuma.
