Known for her natural stage presence, clear tone and vocal agility, soprano Rachael Jewell is establishing herself as a versatile young singer.

Rachael’s staged operatic performances include the roles of Adele in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Despina in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, and Mrs. Gobineau in Menotti’s The Medium (University of Ottawa’s Opera Productions ensemble). She also performed the role of Musetta in Puccini’s La Boheme (Toronto Opera Repertoire, dir. Giuseppe Macina) and Clotilde in Opera by Request’s concert performance of Bellini’s Norma (musical dir. Bill Shookoff).

Rachael holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Vocal performance from the University of Ottawa. She is presently under the direction of Dr. Michael Warren from New York City, and previously studied with soprano Christiane Riel and bass Ingemar Korjus. Rachael is also a full time voice and piano teacher.
