Currently based in the Montreal area, Maria-Sophia holds a 1st violin section position in the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, and plays regularly with various professional orchestras across Quebec and Ontario. She is a graduate from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music (Graduate Diploma in Performance and Masters of Music Performance), and University of Montreal (Bachelor of Music Performance). In addition to working with her mentors, Violaine Melançon and Claude Richard, she has also played in masterclasses with James Ehnes, Michael Frischenschlager, Marianne Dugal, Olivier Charlier, and Cho-Liang Lin.

In 2017, Maria-Sophia was a recipient of the grand prize at the Canadian Music Competition. She has also been a finalist in Toronto’s Marta Hidy Concerto Competition, and a prize winner in the Festival-Concours de musique de Sherbrooke.
