Dr. Marco Chiarot

Dr. Marco Chiarot (DDS, MD, MSc, FRCD) is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with degrees in both Dentistry (Dalhousie 1993) and Medicine (Dalhousie 2001), currently working in his Halifax group practice, Citadel Oral and Facial Surgery. His special clinical interest includes surgical rehabilitation of the jaws with dental implants and bone grafting techniques.

Presently, Dr. Marco Chiarot is an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is an associate professor, Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University. He is the founding member of the Atlantic Implant Study Club, active since 2003. He believes in serving his dental profession and currently sits on the Nova Scotia Dental Association’s Economics committee and Government Relations committee and is past vice-chair of the Prescription Monitoring Board of Nova Scotia, and recently accepted into the International College of Dentists.

He sits on the NSCAD University Board of Governors and chairs its Advancement Committee and devotes time to the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia serving as a director. He is a member of the Halifax’s Commanderie de Bordeaux and Italian Wines Society and resides in Halifax with his wife and two daughters.

Dr. Chiarot joined the NAC Foundation Board of Directors in February 2024.
