Luis Cardenas Casillas

Luis Cardenas Casillas is a multi-genre trumpeter based in Los Angeles. He has played behind such greats as hip hop duo Camp Lo, Mexican Norteno giants Los Tigres del Norte, jazz singer Barbara Morrison, and recorded for the Superbowl LVI performance of Lift Every Voice And Sing. He was an associate member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra for the 2019-2020 season, and placed 2nd in the 2020 Ictus International Trumpet Competition.

As an educator, Luis has worked with students of all ages and skill levels across the country. Currently he works with Chino Hills High School, Arcadia High School and Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, in addition to a busy schedule as a guest clinician.

Luis earned a Master of Music degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas.
