Born in Guangzhou, China and raised in Vancouver, Kelly Lin is a Chinese-Canadian Conductor currently resides in Montréal. As the recipient of the Hnatyshyn Foundation-Christa and Franz-Paul Decker Fellowship in Conducting, Kelly recently graduated from the McGill University with a full scholarship, under the mentorship of Alexis Hauser and Guillaume Bourgogne. Kelly has also obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance from the McGill University.
Kelly has founded the Ensemble Lagom, an ensemble devoted to revitalizing orchestral music for a contemporary generation of listeners. Recent engagements include leading several productions of Ensemble Lagom, being invited as guest conductor at Ensemble Obiora, serving as assistant and backup conductor to Holly Mathieson at Symphony Nova Scotia, and to Guillaume Bourgogne at the Société de musique contemporaine de Québec.
