Juan Antonio Rodriguez Diaz

Juan Antonio is an UK based freelance bassoonist and pedagogue. Former fellow of the Nevis Ensemble, Juan Antonio has recently performed with Manchester Camerata, Hallè Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Symphony Orchestra, among others. He was member of the Internationales Orchester SMA Hundisburg (Germany) and was also member of the Colombian Youth Philharmonic during the 2016-17 / 19 seasons. In summer 2018, Juan was selected as fellow of the Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), recording Copland & Chavez: Pan-American Reflections. Born in Manizales (Colombia) and trained in the United States, Italy and United Kingdom, Juan began his studies at Fundación Batuta at the age of 5. He holds degrees from Duquesne University, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the Royal Northern College of Music in the class of Stefano Canuti.
