Founder and artistic director of Compagnie Flak, José Navas creates abstract group pieces and contemporary ballet pieces as well as dances in his solo shows, charged with emotion. Choreographer in residence for Ballet BC for three years, he successfully delivered his first works on pointe, most notably an iconoclastic version of Giselle in 2013, followed by a new commission for the prestigious National Ballet of Canada in the same year.
José Navas is also Associate Dance Artist of the National Arts Centre. His work has been presented in 30 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
