Chinese-Canadian clarinetist Ji-Wen Tyler Song has received numerous honours, such as the Brunold Award for Classical Music Making, the Stingray Rising Star Award, and the J. Wesley Foster Memorial Scholarship and was included in CBC Radio’s 2020 Top 30 Classical Musicians Under 30. His performance of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with the McGill Symphony Orchestra was praised for its “enormous sensitivity” and “beauty of tone production and timbre”. Tyler has performed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and is an alumnus of the National Academy Orchestra, Domaine Forget de Charlevoix, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute, the CCM Philharmonia, and the McGill Symphony Orchestra.
