Jeremie Gutierrez is a Canadian bass player living in Edmonton, Alberta. Playful yet introspective, his rhythmic/improvisational playing style reflects his versatile playing in different genres of music. Born in Manila, Phillippines and immigrated to Canada at a young age, Jeremie’s passion for playing the bass was kindled by listening to Snarky Puppy, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder, The Miles Davis Quintet, and Weather Report. Jeremie’s musical influences come from listening to bass players like Christian Mcbride, Rich Brown, and Marcus Miller. Currently, Jeremie has been playing in a passion project band called “Altamar,” where his musical styles blend genres, drawing from rich flavours in South and North American traditional music.
