Jeanne Corpataux-Blache

Jeanne Corpataux-Blache began playing the double bass at the age of 11 after studying cello and piano for six years.

After graduating from high school, Jeanne entered the Cégep de Sherbrooke, specializing in different music genres, ranging from jazz to classical, under the tutelage of Jean-François Martel. She continued her studies at Montreal University where she majored in Classical Performance under Marc Denis. During the summer months, she works with talented bass players at the Domaine Forget and the Orford Arts Centre, and as part of the Young Artist Program in Ottawa. In 2014, she joined the class of Ali Yazdanfar at McGill University.
