Honoka Shoji

Since her Carnegie Hall solo debut at age 17, Honoka Shoji is a Canadian harpist who has been distinguishing her career internationally. Honoka, who is a passionate champion of new-music, has a repertoire of music that spans several genres beyond classical, and is always searching for and performing works by Canadian/BIPOC composers. In addition, Honoka plays with Brazilian and jazz combos across Canada and has recorded numerous albums as an artist signed with Thorvald Records. She is also the 2023 winner of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada's "Award of Excellence" recognizing her outstanding leadership and advanced musicianship. At age 21, she won the principal harp position with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec. Honoka currently lives in Montréal, Quebec, pursuing an undergraduate degree in harp performance at McGill University as a recipient of the Schulich Scholarship. She is a student of Jennifer Swartz.
