Hannah Corbett

Canadian violinist Hannah Corbett is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Shepherd School of Music, studying with Cho-Liang Lin as the recipient of the Anne and Charles Duncan Concertmaster Chair Endowment. Hannah has served as the concertmaster of the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra, University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and most recently as principal second of the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. She has received prizes at the Shean Strings Competition, Kocianovo Violin Competition, and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. As a chamber musician, she is a two-time winner of the Felix Galimir Chamber Music Award, and has worked with members of the Guarneri, Juilliard, Dover, Ébène, and Emerson String Quartets. She graduated from the University of Toronto with her BMus (Honours) in 2022, where she studied with Jonathan Crow.

Hannah is thrilled to be joining the New World Symphony as violin Fellow in September 2024.
