Hamza Able is a first-year Timpani fellow at The Orchestra Now. Born in Casablanca Morocco, and from Jacksonville Florida, Mr. Able attended the Manhattan School of Music where he trained under the direction of Christopher Lamb, Duncan Patton, Kyle Zerna, and She-e Wu. Mr. Able is currently studying at the Curtis Institute of Music under the direction of Don Liuzzi, Eric Millstein, and Robert van Sice. Mr. Able has worked under conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Osmo Vänskä, and Peter Oundjian. During his past summer, Mr. Able was the principal Timpanist at the National Repertory Orchestra under the direction of Michael Stern. After finishing his studies, Mr. Able plans to pursue an orchestral career as a principal Timpanist in one of the nation's leading orchestras. Outside of music, Mr. Able enjoys watching and training in mixed martial arts.
