Emma López Hechem

Emma López Hechem is the award-winning Creative Director and partner behind AVA Animation & Visual Arts. She specializes in Projection Design and animation. Her background is in Information Design, and she graduated with honors from both the Visual Effects for Cinema and Television and the Interactive Media Design postgraduate programs at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, Canada.  With over 14 years of professional experience, she has worked creating graphics and animation for renowned animation and post-production studios in Canada and abroad, including E! Entertainment, Loop Media Inc., Enter the Picture, Tango Media Group, and ETC Canada.

In 2010, Emma is a two-time Dora Mavor Moore award nominee and a member of the First Cohort of the #FifthWave Initiative by the Canadian Film Centre for women-led businesses. Emma and her partner Pedro Narvaez founded AVA Animation and Visual Arts, pioneering the field of Architectural Projection Mapping for live events. Since then, they have produced award-winning works and installations in various countries, including Mexico, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, the United States, U.A.E., Lebanon, Armenia, Romania, Chile, Russia, and Canada.
