Duo Beija-Flor presents a repertoire inspired by cultures from around the world with "superb playing, varied programs and infectious rhythms" (The Whole Note, Toronto). Composed of flutist Marie-Noëlle Choquette and guitarist Charles Hobson, the duo have performed in concert in Canada, the United States, Argentina and Costa Rica. After self-producing two critically acclaimed debuts, the duo released their third album, Costas, in fall 2018 under the American label Big Round Records / Naxos of America. They form an "incredibly dynamic and creative team" (The Flute View, San Francisco) and have been guest artists for various media (CIBL, Global TV, etc). Recipient of several awards and scholarships, they were recently selected to be one of the Prairie Debut artists for the 2020-21 season which will see them perform for the first time in Canada’s prairies.
