Coming from the small town of Mount Albert, Ontario, Collins Saunders started playing the trombone in grade 6 and has never looked back. He attained a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto in 2018, where he studied under David Pell. Throughout his undergrad, he quickly became a sought after bass trombonist, substituting with numerous ensembles outside of school in the GTA. In 2018, Collins was accepted under scholarship to study with Blair Bollinger at Temple University in Philadelphia. There, he attained his Master’s degree, graduating in 2020. While in Philly, Collins substituted with numerous professional orchestras in the area. As well as performing, Collins enjoys teaching brass students of all ages. Currently, he maintains a private trombone and piano studio in Toronto.
