Last updated: May 3, 2022

Carmelle is a tap dancer, interpreter, and a lover of the arts. She is a member and producer of a multi-disciplinary quartet, Speaking Vibrations, as the Rhythm Tap Dancer, collaborating with artists of spoken word, song, ASL poetry, and contemporary dance. She is also a member of the Ottawa Rhythm Initiative Ensemble and YOW City Tap which is a trio of rhythm tap dancers and a jazz pianist. While in Vancouver, she danced with The Urban Tap Squad and co-founded the West Coast Tap Dance Collective to promote, develop, and preserve the art of tap dancing. Her passion for the arts extends into her other life working as a Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) for theatre and performing arts, working with Deaf communities and theatre companies across Canada. Carmelle is thrilled to participate in this fellowship and is looking forward to the journey.
