Alexander Beggs

Alexander Beggs is a Calgary-born violist currently studying at McGill University with André Roy. Past teachers include Marina Thibeault, Emilie Grimes, and Theresa Plotnick. Alexander has performed across North American and Europe through his many engagements as an orchestral and chamber musician. Alexander has won numerous awards from UBC, McGill and various other institutions. Most notably, he received the Lloyd Carr-Harris Scholarship from McGill, the Steppingstone award from Domaine Forget, and the Award of Excellence from NYO Canada. Alexander is a member of the Horatio Quartet who were recently invited as finalists to the 2024 Lyon International String Quartet Competition.
