“Lush. Poetic. Magical.”
Lush. Poetic. Magical.
Estonian conductor Olari Elts makes his anticipated debut in Southam Hall with the NAC Orchestra. Sibelius’s second symphony, composed in 1902 at a time of political turmoil in Finland, was hailed as a song of praise to summer and the joy of living. The symphony was a major influence on the young Gary Kulesha, now one of Canada’s most esteemed composers. Kulesha has crafted From the Diary of Virginia Woolf, a showpiece for Krisztina Szabó and the NAC Orchestra. Be there to witness the world premiere.
“Krisztina Szabó’s voice is a burnished joy… and her presence onstage was luminous…” —The Globe and Mail
