Nothing about the piece is yet known, except for the talent of its writer and director. And then a mysterious title appeared. Finally, Joël Pommerat enchants once again.
According to this exceptional artist, La réunification des deux Corées is realist theatre, a relatively simple piece. At the heart of this veritable mosaic consisting of some twenty scenes is the theme of love in all its forms. Inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage, Pommerat favours action over speech, offering a refined, sensitive take on an everyday yet universal theme.
The spectators face each other on the stage. In the centre is a luminous set design where amazing fragments unfold, images both magnificent and magical, in a story told by outstanding actors. Great art!
