The TSO’s Music Director Peter Oundjian also leads Canadian composer Pierre Mercure’s Triptyche and Shostakovich’s titanic Symphony No. 12, subtitled “The Year of 1917.” Written in the later part of Shostakovich’s life, this biographical drama depicts events of Vladimir Lenin’s life during the 1917 Russian Revolution.
