Ms. Glass will serve as the Vice-Chair of the Board at an exciting time for Canada’s home of the performing arts. “We are thrilled to be welcoming long-time supporter Susan Glass and Enrico Scichilone to our Board of Trustees,” said the President and CEO of the National Arts Centre Peter Herrndorf. “At the NAC we say that Canada is our stage, and our role is to help build the performing arts across the country. It’s wonderful to have the perspectives of Manitoba and New Brunswick at our quarterly meetings to ensure we are serving Canadian artists everywhere.”

Ms. Glass has worked on behalf of the NAC on many different projects including the Prairie Scene Festival, when the NAC brought 500 artists from Manitoba and Saskatchewan to the nation’s capital in 2011. She has served on the Board of the NAC Foundation and co-chaired the National Advisory Council for the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards, an annual ceremony at Rideau Hall and gala at the NAC which celebrates the highest lifetime achievement in the performing arts in Canada.  Ms. Glass became a member of the Order of Canada in 2009, for her exemplary contribution to the life of the country.

She has supported arts, health and educational institutions across the country including the Shaw Festival, and has served on the Boards of the Banff Centre, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the University of Manitoba, the St. Boniface General Hospital and the University of Manitoba.

Mr. Scichilone will bring his legal expertise to the NAC’s Board of Trustees. A resident of Moncton, New Brunswick, Mr. Scichilone is a partner in the firm Actus Law Droit. A fluently bilingual native of Tracadie-Sheila, Mr. Scichilone was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 2004. Since then, he has maintained a general practice with emphasis on litigation.
